Continued

That first date with my husband was one of the most simple yet enjoyable dates I have ever had. After supper that night we walked to the Wal-mart that was "close" (an hour walk) to our school. The whole way we just asked each other questions about our hopes and dreams and our faith. We talked about our childhoods and how we were raised. We also talked about our convictions and standards when it came to dating and such. We found that we had a lot of the same beliefs and convictions. I remember thinking that if he wasn't the one for me then God had a bad sense of humor. Once we reached the store we went inside and bought a container of ice cream and a box of plastic spoons (we discussed the reasons behind why they didn't sell spoons individually). We sat out on the lawn (outside of the parking lot cause we didn't want to get in trouble for loitering since he had already gotten in trouble for that once...that's a whole other story) and ate the ice cream. I don't remember what we talked about at that time I just remember laughing a lot.  After that we walked to the house of a friend of his that lived close by. He wanted to introduce me to them. I remember my heart skipping a beat when he told me that. I figured he must really like me if he is introducing me to friends already! The rest of the night was a blur. I just remember falling into bed with this feeling of warmth all over me. We decided to pray about it for a few more days and on September 22nd we officially started dating. We had been dating for 3 1/2 months when he told me he loved  me for the first time. A few weeks later he asked my dad if he could marry me and 4 months later he asked me to marry him...and 3 months after that we were married! Many of you may think that it was all a bit too fast...and maybe you are right. But one thing I am sure of...despite our troubles and struggles... I still believe with my whole heart he is the one God intended for me. I love him more today then the day I married him. Maybe we rushed our relationship...maybe we should have given ourselves some more time to mature as a couple and as individuals...but I think it still would have ended with us getting married.
