Blessings and Freedom

This last week has been an amazing one. The blessings have continued to pour on me despite me not deserving them. My black moods have lightened up some and for that I am very grateful. I am still searching for a reason... a trigger to these moods, but have yet to find one. But despite all that I have determined that I am going to try to focus on the good and the happy... that even when the week or day is bad I will remain in a good mood.

Last Sunday (not today, but the week before) our pastor was gone on a missions trip so Nick did the service. Nick is a young man (well he is older then me I believe) who grow up as a preachers son, but wanted nothing to do with God. His life was messed up and he was into anything and everything. He was a father yet he did nothing about trying to get his life back on track. His parents one day some how got him to go to youth group (despite being 21 or older, can't remember what he said his age was). That night he ended up completely changing his life. I mean COMPLETELY! That night God took all of his addictions and troubles away. He left never touching drugs, alcohol, or cigarettes ever again! That to me is amazing. I mean, I know that God is capable of doing that and I have heard of that happening before but... it seems very rare. It made me wonder why God does that with certain people and not others!?! I mean, I have two older brothers who have struggled with and continue to struggle with that kind of stuff! Is it maybe that they really don't want freedom from it? I mean it seems like one of them REALLY does. It also made me wonder why God just doesn't give me freedom from my struggles. I know that will all have struggles and that there will always be something in out life that is hard, but... it is the same things over and over again for me it seems like! Anyway, I thought the service was wonderful. Despite me wondering why God just doesn't take my problems, it gave me the hope that I may one day completely conquer them. It also gave me the hope that maybe one day my husband will stop wandering and find what he has been looking for... that he will have freedom from his struggles and that he will be on fire for God.

I thank God for my wonderful week and I look forward to the next few weeks. I pray that I will be able to hold on to my contentment and happiness even when things turn dark and ugly. Does anyone have stories about freedom? I would like to hear about them! I think we all need to share more about the amazing things God is doing in our lives.
