Freedom

Sunday my pastor taught on prayer. Part of what he talked about was how we can have freedom through prayer. That we need to pray boldly and bigger. Now I've always kind of known that... that I can receive freedom from sins through prayer... or freedom from past issues. Sunday really opened my eyes, making me realize that I wasn't praying bigger because I didn't have enough faith that God may actually answer them. This last Sunday though I let go of all my issues of trust... all my issues of fear... all my issues of anger, and actually completely and totally trusted God. I prayed the biggest prayer of my life... begging God for freedom from it all. I cried giving it all to Him. I didn't feel an instant release... I didn't feel my weights lifted... but I did have a peace that God was there and He was going to take care of me. Over the last day I can't say that I haven't become angry or afraid, but it is a lot easier to control it. I can stop it before it becomes an issues... I feel as if it isn't out of control any more... that it has no power over me any more. I know that there will be some point where anger or fear won't be a reaction of mine at all. Oh do I look forward to that day. I believe firmly that God will grant me complete freedom... just in His time. I imagine He has a lot left for me to learn. I know that satan is going to try to challenge me... going to try to make me stumble. But God is by my side and for the first time in my life I feel like I can beat this.
