How to keep my daughters pure

This year for Christmas my oldest daughter got an MP3 player from her Daddy. Now, I was ok with that until I heard the music he had put on it for her. Not really bad songs in and of themselves, but songs by artists that I know have some pretty bad songs out there. So, I have been trying to figure out what kind of music to put on it for her. I have a few of those Christian kids worship CDs that I plan on putting some of those on it, but she very much loves songs by like Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez....etc.  I just wish there were artists like that in the Christian music industry. Girls who stood for the right kind of morals and all their songs aren't about finding the right guy and loving him, but about finding God and loving HIM. Unfortunately there are not, and those girls who may have seemed like sweet girls before and have some good song, eventually fall under Hollywood's spell and turn out terrible songs with just as horrible of music videos. It just makes me worry about trying to raise my daughters to have morals... and respect for themselves. I have honestly begun to think that once I have my own place there will be no regular TV allowed in our home. Neither will they be allowed access to the internet until high school and they will NEVER have a computer in their room (they won't have a phone until they can drive either). I know, some of you are going to say that is cruel and terrible of me to do... that having that tight of a "leash" on them will only cause problems. Maybe you are right, but I was raised in a home with just about the same kind of rules. I don't remember ever seeing a regular TV show (accept The Waltons) until I was almost out of high school. I didn't see a PG-13 movie until I was 17, and I didn't see a rated R movie until I was 20 (and it was by accident). I also didn't listen to secular music until my junior year in high school (and then only one group approved by my parents). At the time I hated the rules my parents had for me, but now... I am ever so thankful for how they tried to keep me pure and guarded my heart. Isn't that how God charges us as parents though? We are to guard the hearts and minds of our children. The more I see of the world, the more I want to do just that. Being in the situation that I am it will be a little more difficult then if it was just me making the decisions about what they can and can't listen to. I guess all I can do is do my best and pray that the Lord grabs their hearts at a young age. In fact I pray for that every night. That they will come to love God with such a passion that all they want to do is live the right way and do the right thing... all for His glory.

Well, this is totally off subject but I thought I would do and update about school and everything since I am on here. School is going well. I have passed all my classes and am getting ready to start another semester. One down and three to go (well four if you count the summer, I guess)! The first eight weeks I will be taking A&P II, Nursing Fundamentals II, and then I will be doing my psych rotation for clinical. For the second eight weeks I will be on med-surge rotation, Life span, Nursing Fundamentals II (continued), and then an online sociology class. Once I am done with those I will have completed my first year! WOOT WOOT! But then during the summer I am going to have to take Effective Writting and Microbiology (and possibly speech). On another note about school. I have started thinking about taking a foreign language class. I have been thinking either French or Spanish. It will probably end up being Spanish just because I have already had four years of it in high school, but... I have always loved French and wanted to learn it. Maybe I will do both! haha Yeah right! Well, that's it for now. I will try to update as much as possible as far as school goes. Love ya "all". :P
