Your Will be Done
I often find myself begging God to "make" someone do or feel something. Tonight I found myself doing that and I realized that God isn't going to answer that particular prayer for He is not going to "make" anyone do anything. He gave us free will. Some times I hate that fact because I think if only God could "make" that person do the right thing. So in realizing this I wondered how I should pray for this particular thing I am praying for. Is there a right way to say it? Or should I not even be praying for God to change someone the way I want them to be changed? I realized then that God has it in His hands already... that He knows what the best outcome is for this matter. Though as I realize this I am hoping that God and I are on the same page. How am I to know that my desires are the same as His? So now I bow my head and say those 4 words that most people roll their eyes when someone says them ('cause they think, "That person really doesn't mean it... they are just saying it 'cause its the right thing to say"), but I confess it scares me to death to say them for I do not know how this will turn out... but I am giving it to Him. "Your will be done."
